23 rules for winning in 2023 (without getting lucky)

A little cheatsheet for making money online, NFT’s, crypto, Tiktok, and why you probably need to be working in the "Chat GPT" space this year...

1. No one ever wants to pay for anything.

(Every sale must be worked for, don’t get complacent)

2. You have not paid your dues. Work harder

3. Manage the people you hire closely. They will always be lazy if you let them

4. Stop objection handling when mentors tell you what you’re doing wrong

5. If you’re not friends with the movers & shakers in your niche, good luck

6. When you get ignored by someone, follow up over and over (credit to my mentor Dan Meredith for teaching me this)

7. Any platform with 200 million+ active users will never be “dead”

8. Organic reach is still alive-have a bias to posting more in 2023. The other good news is a $ goes a long way in paid, we are getting clicks from USA audience for $0.03 on Facebook right now!

9. Don’t pay for things where possible. Work out trade deals/swap services.

10. Sales is STILL the hardest & most important thing to do.

Focus on it- everything else in Business is VERY EASY in comparison

11. Market research stops failures & makes companies great.

12. Everything runs to a system, & every system can be beaten.

13. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to build an audience (i.e. making lots of original content) while making good money, so decide one or the other.

14. Tiktok is the only way to grow an artist brand online if you don’t have ANY money to grow your business, focus on Tiktok.

Ignore EVERYTHING ELSE and go all in.

15. The financial upside from NFT’s and Crypto is MUCH bigger than a normal business, and faster. But, requires startup capital to get in the game and has much more risk.

16. If you want to work for someone else (or consult for someone else), the fast money is in the hot spaces: Chat GPT, A.I. Metaverses, NFT’s, crypto, etc.

17. Use a better microphone for calls/podcasts to make it sound more professional! SM-7 is the industry standard

18. Send critical things (landing pages, sales letters etc) to at least 5 people for feedback before posting

19. Headlines: The style of “click to find out” headline promises is a little out of date.

Typically now you have to give at least one piece of value to prove you’re different to others;

E.g. in fitness “Cardio will NOT get you a six-pack!” It’s like “whoa! This thing I believed is wrong!”

Or Russell Brunson’s vibe of “Shut your website down - here’s something better”

20. Stock-footage only image/video pitches are out of date and last in 2023.

The modern style is to have the speaker pitching to camera to give the illusion of a one-to-one sales call if you don’t want to speak to clients.

As ever Russell Brunson is the king of this- study him, and Mike Dillard.

21. Making a big outrageous promise as a call to action is a good way to end the video

22. Keep asking yourself: Is this the right thing to be doing right now, or am I doing it as it’s easier? (Classic example: Making content when you should be doing sales)

23. It is possible Chat GPT is going to be VERY VERY disruptive this year, replacing laptop jobs (like copywriting and marketing roles) left, right and centre. Learn how to use it- you may even be someone who creates a business off the back of it.
