5 MORE reasons newsletter businesses are exploding
I'm betting my career that this will be the business I can retire from. If you aren't convinced, read this:
1- Social media & content burnout is a BIG issue.
Too many marketers selling too many things, too much noise in your feed, too many well-known studies about the toxic effects of cell device addiction/social media addiction. Your email is a safe haven with no random posts, nothing triggering, nothing addictive, and the option to unsub from anything you don’t like, forever, with one tap.
2- People are already paying for niche/newsletter content.
People think “But why would people pay for information when it’s available on blogs and YouTube” BUT
Substack has proved that people will pay, in droves, for niche content. Absurd amounts of bucks are paid out to creators every month on Substack. The reason? People are drowning in content. They want to be led by experts, giving them the essentials that they need to know.
Once guru’s start advertising the potential returns from a newsletter business, there will be mass adoption, particularly with ChatGPT’s ability to create content. Notable internet marketers like Scott Oldford are already beating the “newsletters are the future” drum, and setting up high-ticket courses for those who want to learn how to create them for yourself.
3- Most adult entrepreneurs simply do not want to be on camera.
Yes, a few on Tiktok have gained an audience and there, but there have been close to zero stories of an entrepreneur getting to Gary Vee, Tai Lopez, Grant Cardone level through Tiktok alone (which has been out six+ years already).
Adult entrepreneurs can just about stomach having photo’s of themselves on Instagram (and even that is a tiny number compared to Facebook/Linkedin) but most simply want to write and stay in the background doing the actual work, not becoming an “influencer” for the sake of "tryna go viral".
4- A newsletter business can very easily be completely outsourced.
Anyone who *has* made their personal brand their face eventually realizes how hard it is to release themselves from the business. In a newsletter business, using your face makes no difference, what matters is the content itself.
5- With so much talk of privacy, ads, and spam, permission is now the currency (as Seth Godin once said)
And with permission to be in someone’s inbox, you don’t have to shout, scream, talk about politics, or otherwise be a TV personality - People are subscribing for what you say, not who’s saying it.
