ChatGPT's "mafia" moment (Sign clients FAST with an offer your potential client won't be able to refuse)

The easiest way to sign a client is when it's no risk for them. Here's a way to do it without investing days or weeks of your time in order to prove yourself.

One of the sad realisations about being in business:

It’s not only “how good you are at the thing” it’s the whole OTHER layer of getting clients.

Without that, it doesn’t matter how good you are at the service you provide.

The easiest way to get a new client?

REDUCE ALL RISK.

In this article, I’ll give you 20 services you can offer your client as a “free trial” that you can do in minutes to get your foot in the door.

To give you an example of how things are VS how they could be, let’s say you wanted to do Search Engine Optimization work for a client.

Without ChatGPT, you’d have to do a full manual SEO analysis, or click every link on their website, or manually check all tweets rather than using software or ChatGPT to auto-generate improvements. That really would be impossible to do if you wanted to pitch multiple clients in one day.

ChatGPT and it’s apps to use the internet live could do this in minutes.

If you wanted to write copy for a client, you would have to either hire a copywriter or spend the whole day writing blog posts about your potential clients, which would limit how many you could do in a day.

And like I always say, these ideas are just jumping off points for your own personalized ideas to win. (i.e. as you read this article think about the unique thing YOU could do with ChatGPT for your target audience/niche)

(I’ll presume you’re selling content or social media services as an agency, for these examples, but use your imagination!)

Use case:

Someone who looks like they or their company makes money and could get clients from Linkedin, but is not as active on there as they are on other platforms (which is almost everyone!)

Firstly, get ChatGPT to help you write an outline cold reachout that you can customise, something like:

“Hey, I see you’re busy on Twitter and Substack, but notice you don’t create content on Linkedin.

Some of the biggest Substack publications like Lenny’s newsletter get the majority of their traffic from Linkedin.

I’ve had many posts go viral on Linkedin, reaching thousands of people.

I’m building case studies and would love to ghost write for your Linkedin (for free for a month) I will learn your voice and write as many posts as you want for the trial month - You will approve & post the articles, I don’t need access to your account, and you can schedule the whole month in one 15-minute sitting) I guarantee your engagement will increase!
Just reply with one word “interested” and I’ll send you my Calendly link for a quick setup call.

Remember, on that call you MUST lay the terms of what' working with you might look like after the trial. Tell them what you’ll do and how much you expect to get paid per month, if they like what you do in the free trial.

They need to be invested in this.

A risky card is to use the below prompt before they agree to trial it and send them some sample posts for their profiles that you could create for them.

Positives of this approach:
> Shows you are proactive
> You aren’t pitching to “start” working with them, you’ve already started the work, this would be just continuing it!
> There’s a good chance there’ll be impressed with either the content of the posts and/or how you’ve captured their tone

Negatives of this approach:
> If they DON’T LIKE either the content of the posts and/or how you’ve captured their tone, that could kill the trial.

On the onboarding call you would get a better idea of what they want you to create. For instance they might say “I want to move towards working with software companies more” so if you’ve sent them sample posts based on what they *currently* write, it may be something they want to move away from.

Prompt:

I want to ghostwrite on Linkedin for Josh Frank. Below I have copied and pasted some of his tweets as well as some blog posts he has written. I need you to learn his style of voice and output a sample Linkedin post in his tone of voice while keeping the hallmarks of a classic Linkedin post:
Very short sentences (particularly the first sentence), ONE theme per message, the post should be a simple story with a takeaway that his audience (ecommerce store owners) will agree with and/or throw rocks at the “enemies” of ecommerce store owners.

Then refine the sample post to be perfect specifically for you.

What’s so great about this as a sales technique is:

> You have reversed all risk with the free trial

> the free trial indicates they are interested in having this service, even if they just wanted the free month, they probably wouldn’t bother even doing the trial if they had no interest in posting on Linkedin

> In this example, there’s a fair chance their engagement on Linkedin will increase as a result of this, as Linkedin (and all social channels) reward you highly for regularly producing content)

> most of all, like the previous example, this seems like a LOT of work to the client (“Wow, they want to work with me so bad they are gonna write 30-60 posts for me for free!”) buuuut…in reality this whole thing is just you hitting the enter button 30-60 inside ChatGPT once you’ve dialed in their voice (or brand voice if for a larger company).

This method works for MANY THINGS ChatGPT can do, and NO-RISK is LITERALLY THE BEST WAY TO CLOSE A CLIENT!

Reminder: As with all my examples, don’t focus on my examples (unless you do that thing!), focus on “okay how can I do this in MY industry, with MY services”

13> “I’ll rewrite ad or landing page copy and give you alternatives for every ad/landing page you’re running for free. If it converts better, maybe you hire me- If it doesn’t, you get my work for free anyway:

14> I’ll write you 5 ebooks as lead magnets, including social media and social media ad copy to entice people to click, and the landing page copy to get them to convert to download the ebook, and the thank you/upsell email sequence afterwards”

15> “I’ll create voice overs for unlimited videos for one month” (There are like 100+ free A.I. text-to-voice softwares to choose from, just type “free text to speech software on Google and pick one ha) I’ve heard good things about

Tools like Wombo would help. “Wombo is an AI-powered video creation platform that allows users to create personalized videos using pre-built templates. The platform utilizes AI technology to create videos with text-to-speech, lip sync, and special effects, and also allows users to upload their own audio and video. With Wombo, users can create videos for various uses such as social media posts, marketing campaigns, and e-learning”.

16> “I’ll create your business a free explainer video including all graphics, video, script, and voiceover, if you like it we do more”

(You may need to daisy chain a few pieces of software together to do this, but it’s pretty easy, again just google, or check out A.I. software like

where you can use text prompts to create voice, video, and pictures, even remove backgrounds, from within your browser. Also, Synthesia-AI can help you create videos from scratch/using text prompts, and also includes actors who can appear on video reading out your script- mind-blowing technology.

17> As previously mentioned, you can offer an SEO review and improvements, free SEO writing/blog writing services for a month, and offer to fix their SEO if they like your free work

And remember, there are new tools every week that can give you superpowers to impress clients.

As I was finishing my ChatGPT book, I found this one, “impress a potential client in a box”:

It helps to automate content audits, remove subjectivity from decision making, and prioritize the right content faster. It also provides SERP insights, cluster creation and analysis, competitive content analysis, keyword research, content briefing, and content optimization.”

At this point, you should be able to generate the prompts for the above for yourself, just use the format I used for creating the content for the Ecommerce store owner target client mentioned above.

Then just type into ChatGPT in great detail, and keep asking it to refine itself so you get the best possible results like I did in the Linkedin example.
Alternative idea:

18> Check what your target client talks about on Twitter and use ChatGPT to create a massive useful reply which seems like it would take time to put together and reply to their post. they will notice the effort in that tweet.

19> Get ChatGPT to be a travel guide.

Use case:
You see a potential client say “Excited to holiday in Venice next week. Where’s good to go/eat?”

Prompt: “A friend is visiting Venice, what are the spots he needs to see, and where is good to eat and drink at?”

Alternative idea 3:

20> Get ChatGPT to write a detailed post about a thing your target client cares about in order to begin a conversation with them.

Use case:

You see a potential client talking about a thing they are interested in, perhaps involving a known celebrity or brand.

ChatGPT prompt:

“I would like to create a humorous image involving (brand) or (celebrity) to respond on Twitter to something someone said mentioning it.

Make it edgy, but not offensive. The context of the image will be (Insert context here) I would like to take your prompt output and put it in a text-to-image generator such as Midjourney to create the image”

A well-placed image reply is worth a thousand words.

Creating images from text is a superpower - It’s not as easy to do as text (yet) but I’ll talk about it more once it happens.

But like most things I talk about here, if you go and find out how to do them first, you’ll be way ahead of your competitors.
