For everyone who wants to sell their knowledge, here are some things I wish I knew when I started:
I got some things right, but many things wrong. Learn from my mistakes:
1. Find a "thing" like I did for growth hacking or others do for bitcoin, Twitch, etc, create content on it, give talks on it, do podcasts and then sell services based on the audience you build
2. Work for someone else to get your $ needs sorted then do this on the side, giving you more time and space to be free to do it.
I'm a big fan of this more recently then the hustle of 1) but it's not as sexy obviously. p.s. being on welfare was my version of this ha
3. Don't skip on learning how to growth hack to get an audience.
Time after time my friends try and skip this set and it doesn't work unless you're happy to do content every day for 5 years and build it organically (Jake and Logan Paul have been making content 13 years!!)
4.The mechanics of growth hacking are actually pretty straightforward. Coming up with great, original content (or curating other peoples' content, which works well too but a little harder to get good consultancy clients this route) but having a "unique thing" is key
Do you know what your thing is? And follow-up: Are you truly different to anyone else doing it/are u bringin it to a new market.
I brought growth hacking (fairly well known in the startup world) to a wider business audience who had never seen it before.
Right now, you’ve probably noticed I’m a bit obsessed with Chat-GPT.
You should be too ;)
