Need to make money fast? Here are 10 things I’ve learned from 10 years of being in business:
Some may seem obvious, but I wish I knew them before I started out, would've saved me MAJOR time and money wasted:
1. Make it VERY CLEAR what you do and have a way for people to easily and obviously buy it from you
It’s amazing how many people don’t have this right (and yep, I struggled with this for years - the scary bit is people won’t tell you they don’t understand what you do/sell, they just bounce off your social media page/website without talking to you)
2. It’s fine to read/listen to personal development books but *executing* teaches you more faster. Results speak louder than knowledge: case studies/screenshots are ALL you need to post to get clients
I did lots of “tricks” to help myself stand out but I always had solid client and personal results throughout my reign to back it up. When you have results, confidence is infectious. When you don’t, people get suspicious.
3. Recurring revenue is second only to “selling your company” in the best thing you will ever do for your business.
“One and done” sales are very expensive.
Caveat: It’s harder to build recurring revenue businesses, and the “having no money fast” as you need to re-invest everything to make it work, which puts a lot of people of…or it doesn’t work fast and people quit.
I had a client pay me about $250,000 over lockdown. Amazing! Until the contract ended. Then I had to start again.
4. Everyone, LITERALLY everyone I ever met made less money than I thought (they give themselves away eventually with a number or two) so don’t believe the hype and focus on your own £$ only
5. The only predictable way I’ve found to have people try and hire me every single week without fail is to create content.
If you see me with no content it traditionally means I’m too busy with client work ;)
If you don’t want to create your own content, “DJ”/repost others content.

6. Every significant business deal or partnership ever has been with someone I met in real life.
Internet is good for lots of people paying a very small amount, big things normally come from real life relationships. Book a talk or put on a mixer when you visit a new major city, you’ll be surprised how many people want to come (If you’ve been putting out good content, see point five above)
7. The highest returns come with the highest risks.
Let crypto and stonks people enjoy their flowers - many have bankrupted their families or killed themselves on the journey.
I’ve never been a risk taker so I’ve had less headlines than most, but I’ve been solid for 10 years now (99%. (NINETY NINE PER CENT!) of people who start a business have shut it down within ten years!)
8. The first few years you can chase clicks and “organic traffic” - go hard here, eventually you’ll lose the spirit to hustle and get into paid ads, but when you’ve got the sweat, go get it, it can’t last
…And it shouldn’t last.
You need to progress from hustling “free” traffic to having money to scale your business using paid traffic.
If you don’t do this you will be in the same spot in five years, even if you are making much more money.
The goal is freedom, not “more money”
9. The REAL secrets to doing x or being successful in an industry are still not posted publicly, despite what you may think. It goes down in the DM’s.
This is why it’s good to have friends in the industry to swap ideas with, and even better, be in those sacred private group chats and Telegram groups where cutting edge techniques are discussed.
10. Get a standing (or walking!)desk - your glutes we’re not designed to be sat on all day and will eventually rebel against you!
Bonus: BE VERY WARY OF ANYTHING billed as "Passsive income" e.g. an auto-webinar that lands $3k course buyers in your lap.
It takes an insane amount of testing, affiliates, and having your own audience to do a "We launched a new course and made $100k in three days" thing. (luck and timing also play a part, but that's a story for another day)
