Feedback can help you stop making obvious errors, but 99% of people ask for it in the wrong way. Here's how to get life-changing feedback the easy way:
1. Why aren’t u sharing this with ur friends as it’s so good? What would need to happen so u would?
2. What’s the thing u think I should try but you’re too scared to say as it’s risky and you think I’ll blame you if it doesn’t work?
3. If one thing caused this idea to fail, what would you think it is?
4. Who (or which groups of people) should I show this to get the best feedback?
5. If we were to speak again in 3 weeks, what would you have wanted me to do to show progress?
Remember: EVERYONE will start with politeness.
Everyone has given feedback and had their head bitten off by people with an ego/issues.
So you need to pull their true feelings out of them.
If they say they like it three times in a row when you ask, you can stop digging though, they actually like it :)
Remember!
Don’t take advice from someone who has not done the exact thing you’re trying to do.
Those who do it will give you vastly different advice, and advice which normally surprises you.
A classic example is 9 out of 10 people will tell you to ignore Facebook, as it’s “dead”
Meanwhile Facebook has had more app downloads in the past four years than Instagram, and almost as many as Tiktok!
Don’t believe the hype.
Especially when asking for advice.
