She wouldn't sleep with me because I wasn't Drake
...and why this is CRITICAL for your business:
A little while back I went to a rooftop party in Hollywood.
I was with a cute girl I had met that night and my L.A. videographer, filming me in a “day in the life” vlog.
At one point in the night she said: "If Drake were here, I would definitely go home with him, but I wouldn't go home with you"
Rather than being annoyed, I smiled.
Wanna know why?
I realised this was the halo effect in full action
Drake has a significant “halo effect” for a 23-year old girl who is into music.
The halo effect is a cognitive bias in which an observer's overall impression of a person, company, brand, or product influences the observer's feelings and thoughts about that entity's character or properties.
It was named by psychologist Edward Thorndike in reference to a person being perceived as having a halo.
Drake had the halo effect.
I was just some British dude in tight jeans she had just met.
If I had a bigger...brand, maybe she'd call me on my cellphone.
Orgasm chasing aside, seeing the halo effect in real life is exciting to me- I love it when the things I learn in "business" (business is for squares) show up in real life.
So why should you care about the halo effect?
Any one of you reading this- Let's say I'm your perfect prospect.
If I don't buy from you there are ten other people I can buy a virtually identical product/service from.
What does this mean?
You could choose the wrong product and lose the sale
You could use the wrong copy and lose the sale
You could mess up your pitch and lose the sale
So how can you get all three WRONG and still CLOSE THE SALE AND MAKE MONEY?
By having a halo effect.
Most people think viral is either 0 or 10 million views on YouTube and nothing inbetween, when in fact virality is a group of people sharing your idea in such a way that makes your project a success.
Ditto, the halo effect.
A lot of you reading this are put off writing content, or making video content, and see a massive disconnect between you and "famous" people.
By creating great content, by HELPING a lot of people, by doing this with NO expectation of return and creating this content FOR FREE, you become an authority in your space and cultivate your own "halo effect".
But up until recently, this was impossible to do at scale.
Everyone knows they need to be putting out a lot of content, but no one has the time/knows what to post/when to post it/how to post it.
I recently found a solution to this problem, but before I get to that…
I have bought high-ticket coaching packages without knowing what is in the package, I have gone to millionaire masterminds which cost thousands of dollars to attend, for no reason other than guestlist was full of people I admired.
When people know, like, and trust you, you can get big things wrong and they'll purchase from you, and you don't have to "follow the rules" other companies do.
You only need to be "famous" to a very, very small group of people in the business world to be paid handsomely, live a very fun life, and touch a lot of people.
Make those leads hot and begging to work with you, don't leave them going home alone like I had to do that night in Hollywood (lol)
And if you want to know how to do that easily, at scale?
I’ve developed a “hyper posting strategy” using software and ChatGPT.
It has quadrupled my reach across Facebook and Linkedin, and I will be scaling it to other platforms too.
It’s easy, and anyone can do it.
If you want to hear how I did it, hit reply and I will send you information.
