The #1 question I get asked is "How did you go from welfare to where you are now?"
Everyone wants the "secret" and "magic button" which is fine, I'm here to give you the daily cheat codes. But if you don't do THIS, it won't matter what secrets I give you:
People want to hear the “one moment it all changed” for me.
The truth is, it was a collection of small moments.
To this day, some days I feel like it’ll all fall away, but it somehow never has, mainly as of the hours I put in.
If you do the hours, you will win.
Today’s article is a repost from successful EDM DJ “Jauz” who posted this on his Facebook a while ago.
People come to this blog everyday for traffic hacks and secrets, but the layer “above” all of that is much more important.
The classic example is the super talented person being beaten by the person of mediocre talent…because the person with mediocre talent simply worked harder.
This article continues an idea I really believe:
“If you really say "no" to a lot of things and just work on your main thing all day every day and night, you *should* make it”.
So, take it away JAUZ":
"Warning: this is a long post. This is a culmination of people around the world asking me the same kind of questions, and after really racking my brain, the best answer I can give all of you guys. So, here we go...
You want to know the secret to fame? To success? Here it is:
Believe in yourself so much, that no one else can tell you otherwise.
Also doubt yourself so much, that you feel like no matter how hard you work or try nothing could ever get you to your goal.
Work so hard, that your friends think you're crazy.
That they make fun of you. Work so hard that while those friends are out partying and enjoying their lives, you're in your room working on being the absolute best you can be for as many hours as your body and mind can possibly handle.
Work so hard, that your family has absolutely no idea what you're doing or why you do it every single day and night of the year.
Be ridiculed, be shunned, be ignored, be told no. Get shut down so many times that you become immune to it. That it drives you, and gives you energy.
Set boundaries for yourself. IE if you're an aspiring producer/DJ, don't spend your money going to every show and festival that comes your way.
Tell yourself "I won't go to (X) until I've worked hard enough to play there/get there on my own."
Also, go get inspired.
Take yourself out of your work cycle on INCREDIBLY RARE AND FAR BETWEEN instances, remind yourself why you are working yourself to the bone, and then get straight back to it the next day.
Give EVERYTHING to your craft.
Don't let a single thing stand in your way. If there's someone in your life or something you do that prevents you from working 25 hours a day, get rid of it.
Ingrain the idea in your mind that NOTHING will get you where you want to be other than hard work. No matter who you meet, what shortcut you find, what "too good to be true" situation comes your way, realize that all of those will lead you straight to failure if you haven't put in the hours.
Keep working so hard, that eventually what you are doing isn't work.
It's who you are. It's what you do. And now people are taking notice. Your parents believe in you; you're friends support you. The right person will come into your life and open the door to your path to success.
Keep doubting yourself.
No matter how many good things happen, no matter how many goals you never thought possible become realities, always know that there's something else better out there that you have to keep working harder than you did yesterday to achieve.
Enjoy yourself. Be happy.
Be grateful, be appreciative, be humble. Thank the people around you who believed in you when no one else did. Thank the people who laughed at you and made you doubt yourself. Thank yourself for never giving up and working your ass off harder than anyone else around you.
Keep working your ass off so you can make every single day of your life as good as this one, and better than the day before it."
