How to make $10k per month from your personal Facebook profile in 2023 (on a budget of zero)
If you're doing "business" stuff, a tiny number of the right connections are all you need. Here's how you can make more $ with 500 friends then some influencers with 500,000 followers:
1. Post 2-3 times a day on your personal profile
Two thirds “value posts” (how to do xyz, like this post) and 1/3rd memes/reposted pics/videos and personal updates that make people interested in you.
Reminder: Never ever post an external link to a website on Facebook
It will crush your reach.
Import videos rather than link to YouTube, copy and paste the text from a blogpost into Facebook rather than linking to your blog, etc.
Engage with people who react/comment on your posts. If you have too much family/friends on your personal Facebook or don’t want to turn your personal FB into a biz profile, you can start your own group.
But you’ll need to fill that group with people, which isn’t easy from a standing start (I’ll drop an updated guide on how to grow a FB group as a post in here if there’s demand, just let me know in the comments).
(I strongly suggest surrendering your Facebook profile to be a business platform that makes you money, and keep up with family on Whatsapp and friends on Instagram)Make a list of the 15-20 Facebook groups in your niche that have engagement on most posts.
Facebook search is *okay* but there are a lot of spammy groups in all niches.
Far better to find 20/30 Facebook friends or people you respect and follow and see if they have their “groups” public.
That’s a good lead source.
(If you subscribe to my paid articles here on Substack, I just posted the 15 Facebook groups I personally post in which have great engagement and 100,000+ members)Once you have your list of Facebook groups, post once a day in those groups with your very best value posts.
Try to resist doing a “call to action” as group owners don’t like that. Reply to comments as they happen. If your value posts are good, people will add you as a friend, message them and say hi when they add you!
Arguably more powerful than posting content:
Become a “reply guy” (or girl, but reply guy does rhyme). Simply comment replies to the question posts people ask in Facebook groups.
If you’re more detailed and give more values than other commenters (not hard) your comment will be upvoted and people will start to add/message you.
Like everything on this list, the more you do it, the faster you will get clients. Now that you are in front of and having conversations with your ideal clients, you need something to offer them.
Everyone loves to talk about perfect funnels, perfect sales pitches, perfect landing page copy, perfect ads and ad targeting BUUUUUUT the single most important thing is rarely talked about: Having an offer that converts.
Everything I just mentioned WILL NOT WORK if you don’t have a hot offer people want.
Next to building an audience so you can sell to people, working out what the offer is your biggest priority.
Find out your audiences’ biggest problems, but also be Steve Jobs: Invent products/services they haven’t asked for but you think they want.Plan out a path to $10k per month
- 1 enterprise client paying $10k a month,
10 clients paying on average $1k a month,
100 clients paying $100 a month, or
1,000 clients paying $10 a month
(which is the model I’m working to with this Substack).
Also you can sell information/coaching, or consulting, see my post coming this Monday about how to do this, signup to get it in your inbox:Also…make sure what you’re selling actually works, is as good, or better than your rivals.
Particularly in the wooly world of services/consulting/information, you’re only fooling yourself if you don’t get results for your clients.
You may convince them to buy with a flashy presentation and pitch, but they will cancel when they don’t get results.Once you have something that works, the *ONLY* marketing you need is screenshots of results and/or client testimonials about how good your stuff is, which you should post on your Facebook profile and in the groups you post into.
